Higher education typically involves work towards a degree-level or foundation degree qualification. Undergraduate STEM education programs include course work, research based programs and service learning programs. Research based programs are designed to increase undergraduate students’ knowledge about cutting edge research techniques and research ethics. Service learning programs, especially the ones specific to STEM courses are designed to provide students with opportunities to apply their STEM content expertise to improve communities.
